Footwork
Footwork is used to avoid punches and create the correct distance for offloading your punches onto your opponent.
Good Boxing Footwork is a key skill and should be used to get within range of your opponent as well as helping you to avoid punches from your opponent, start with these basics: 1. Position your feet within the correct range punches to maximise impact 2. Using footwork to create counters such as stepping to an angle to avoid punches while offloading punches on your opponent Boxing Stance is a very important part of any Boxer's set up, here are some key things to keep in mind: 1. Feet should be spread more slightly more than shoulder width apart 2. Right-handed fighter or an orthodox should lead with the left foot 3. Left-handed fighter or a southpaw should lead with the right foot 4. Knees will be slightly bent 5. Both feet should be parallel 6. Lean slightly more weight leaned on your front foot, with your body leaning forward |
