Back foot Boxer
Boxers who move to create safety and distance from their opponents while also looking to counter punch. Tips for back foot fighters will be to look for angle counters with power finishes such as pivots and fast back hand side steps. Off Centre Boxer This method is used for boxers who like to stay slightly off the centre and use counter punching to create openings. Off centre fighters also use footwork to create a safe distance from opponents. Centre Fighter/ Forward Centre Fighter This type of fighter likes to use counter punching for attacks from the centre or forward centre. Encouraging your opponent to move more to avoid your punches. Centre boxers and forward centre boxers use this footwork approach to make your opponent move more frequently, while they can maintain minimal movement. Forward Pressure Fighter Forward pressure boxers will use stalking like methods looking to cut opponents off and offload punches. Pressure forward fighters will make opponents move much more, as they use high pressure to trap opponents and land punches. |
